How Do You Make A Simple, Reusable Light Box?
A light box provides softer, more diffuse light than a flash. This one is perfect for small items such as crafts and eHow ideas. It doesn’t require any cutting or connecting. And, when it’s not in use, you can store your equipment in it! Choose a large translucent plastic box. This will allow light to filter in from all sides, but you don’t have to cut (cardboard) or connect (PVC pipes) or anything. Tip box on its side, facing the camera. In a sunny room, place so the sun is behind the camera but not shining directly into the box. Put paper or cloth in as a backdrop. I like to use memory book pages from the craft store. Recycled packing paper works well, too. Tape to back (bottom of tub) with masking tape. Experiment and find what works best. Place at least two lamps of equal wattage in front of the box. Goose-necked lamps that take 60 watt bulbs can be found at department stores for under $10.00. Office supply stores might charge more. Better yet; high intensity lamps can be found at
