How Do You Make A Simple, Healthy Tuna Sandwich?
Who says a tuna sandwich needs loads of fat to be tasty?! When you’re on the go, a tuna sandwich is a great way to get the protein, carbs and nutrients you need. It can be pre-made and easily stored. But if you are concerned with all the unhealthy fat in a typical tuna sandwich, try this healthy, easy, mayo-free recipe! Slice the lettuce very thinly and dice the celery into tiny pieces. At this time, dice the tomatoes and olives if you choose to use them. In a bowl, mix the drained can of tuna, lemon juice, black pepper, paprika, avocado and the other optional ingredients if desired. Be sure to mash the avocado in there to help the ingredients stick together. Add the lettuce and celery to your mix. Be sure to break the tuna down and stir it well. This will help the ingredients hold together without the need for mayo. This should yield approx. 4 servings.
