You want two garbage cans: One for fresh compost and one for compost that can be left to do it’s thing. The kinds of garbage cans you take to the curb every week work best, household garbage cans tend to be too small and flimsy. For a medium sized garbage can, you want at least half dollar sized holes placed throughout the garbage can about every 24″. Drill them starting at the top and work your way all the way around.
