How Do You Make A Shrinky Dink Zebra?
Zebras are known for the black and white stripes all over their bodies. Children can make their own shrinky dink zebras after visiting them in the zoo. The zebra shrinky dinks will start out large, but will end up shrinking in the oven. Purchase a set of shrinky dink sheets from the Shrink Dink Store (see Resources below). Open the package and set out a sheet in front of you. Make sure the rough side is facing up. Use a black pencil crayon to draw the outline of a zebra. You can use the picture above as a reference or a picture from a library book. Make the outline large so that it doesn’t shrink so small you can’t see it. Color in your zebra pattern of black and white stripes. Cut the zebra out with a pair of scissors. Leave a clear space around the edges of the zebra to make up for some of the shrinking.
