Armoires can be used to create unique spaces. Typically used to store clothes, armoires can be manipulated to create an attractive sewing space. Uninstall the doors and any innards of the armoire and you have the beginnings of a sewing desk. If the armoire has a built-in shelf, use colorful baskets to store your sewing supplies and material. Browse your local antique shop or flea market for inexpensive armoires. Take out the clothing rod that runs the length of the inside of the armoire. Shelving located at the top of the armoire can be kept to use for storing your sewing supplies and material. Using a drill or screwdriver, remove the screws from the armoire doors by unscrewing the screws from the hinge of each door.
