How Do You Make A Sewing-Free Blanket?
I frequently want to give someone a handmade gift but I don’t sew nor do I have a sewing machine. My daughter showed me how to make a throw (personal-sized blanket) without having to make a single stitch. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s actually fun. Wash the fleece just to get rid of any fluff, or in the rare case that something may shrink. Lay the fleece out flat, one piece on top of the other. You may want to use a solid for one side and a pattern for the other. At each corner, cut out a ten-inch square. You won’t need this material anymore. Try to make each corner the same dimension. Using the scissors, cut strips about 10-inches deep and one-inch wide around the entire perimeter. When you finish, you’ll have a fringe all the way around. At this point, the two layers won’t be connected to each other, although they will be cut.
