Salt dough can be used like clay and baked in the oven until hard. Salt dough necklaces are something that children can make themselves and wear proudly. This craft is recommended for ages 7 and up, and adult supervision and help is needed. Step 1 Mix the flour and the salt in a large bowl. Add the vegetable oil and mix everything together with a large wooden spoon. Step 2 Pour the water into the salt dough mixture and mix thoroughly. Make sure there are no lumps in the dough. Step 3 Knead the dough until it is firm. At this point, the salt dough can be used right away or refrigerated in an airtight container for later use.
