You’re re-decorating your kitchen in a country style and would like some ruffled curtains to hang in the window, but you can’t find a style you like. That’s not a problem; try making the curtains. Sewing kitchen curtains is easy and can be made in an afternoon. Adding a pre-ruffled trim to the curtain’s hem adds a pretty finish. A lightweight material such as a cotton, cotton blend or voile works well for kitchen curtains. Step 1 Measure the kitchen window for the curtains. Add 3 inches on the top and 1 inch on the other three sides. Divide this amount in half and mark these measurements on two sections of the curtain material. Cut out the two sections. These two sections will be used for one window. Step 2 Fold under ½ inch on the two sides and bottom on the wrong side of the curtain. Fold another ½ inch under and pin the material.
