How Do You Make A Rubber Egg (Great Childrens Science Experiment)?

0

This is a great science experiment you can do with your children in your spare time with items most people have on hand in their homes. This experiment demonstrates the chemical reaction occurring between the calcium carbonate in the egg shell and the vinegar (acid). It is a lot of fun for children and it gets them motivated and interested in science. Boil an egg and place it in the jar. Pour vinegar over the egg and fill up the jar. Place the lid on the jar and allow the jar to sit for 3 days. After 3 days remove the egg from the vinegar. The egg shell will be gone leaving a the thin egg membrane. The egg will feel very rubbery.
