How Do You Make A Round Pen Out Of Hay Bales?
Making a pen out of hay bales is a fast and easy way to contain smaller farm animals temporarily while you fix or build their permanent home. As an owner of such animals you probably already have the bales laying around along with the rest of the supplies necessary to complete this project. Depending on the size of the pen you are building, you can probably have it done in 30 minutes to an hour. Gather the hay bales that you are going to use in the area where you intend to put the pen. The larger the pen you want, the more hay bales you will need. You are going to need at least five, however, to make the round pen. Arrange your hay bales in as close to a circle as you can get them, making sure that they touch corners snugly. Hammer in, with your mallet, wooden stakes around each bale to keep it in place should the animals press against it.
