For Halloween and costume parties, Roman toga costumes are always a classic favorite. It is also one of the easiest costumes to make yourself. Follow these simple steps, and get ready to party ancient Roman style! Step 1 Hem the edges of your fabric by at least ½-inch to prevent the cloth from fraying. Step 2 Remove your clothing except for your undergarments. (You may leave on a short-sleeved t-shirt.) Begin at your back and wrap the fabric around your body under your arms snugly, so that your arms are left bare and the fabric reaches nearly to your knees or below (as desired). Wrap the material 1½ times around your body. Step 3 Throw the rest of the cloth over one shoulder and pin it securely to the back of the fabric where you started wrapping the toga.
