How Do You Make A Rectangular Paper Box?
If you need to construct a paper box for a class project or for a craft, it can be confusing trying to figure out how to piece the box together. You can build a paper box out of a single piece of paper. Once the basic shape is cut, anyone—from children to adults—can fold it. Draw out the pattern on paper. Using a ruler, measure out the sides of the shape. For a 4-inch box, measure out 4 inches for the side, and 2 inches for the ends. Make sure to add the tabs that are on the sides and ends in the picture. Each tab should be 1/4 inch wide and 1 inch long. (In the diagram, they are colored green and blue for reference.) Using scissors, cut out the box carefully, making sure to include the tabs. Once the box is completely cut out, fold in all of the tabs. Fold each side on the line, towards the bottom.
