With just basic sewing and quilting skills you can make a quilt handbag. Once you’ve sewn and quilted the first one, you won’t be able to stop and will be making them to match all your outfits and for gifts. Just follow these easy steps to a completed quilt handbag. Choose your fabric. For the purposes of these instructions, larger print fabrics in cotton work best. You will need to purchase 1/2 yard print fabric and 1/2 yard muslin or other fabric for the inside of the handbag. Also purchase thin batting in the smallest size available, thread and quilting thread. Wash and dry all fabrics to allow for shrinkage before starting the project. Press the fabric. Cut two pieces of the cotton print fabric, two pieces of the lining fabric and two pieces of the batting, 9-inches long and 8-inches wide.
