How Do You Make A Quick Reuben Sandwich?
The first Reuben sandwich was made by New York restaurateur Arnold Reuben or maybe by Omaha grocer Reuben Kulakofsky. Who knows for sure. What we all know is that the Reuben is one mighty fine tasting sandwich! Here’s a quick way to prepare a Reuben for those on the run. Place three slices of corned beef on a plate, dollop on the drained sauerkraut, then top with three more slices of corned beef. (You can add more or less slices of corned beef if desired.) Drape a paper towel over the beef and kraut, then microwave on high for 3 minutes. Place two slices of rye bread into the toaster. Toast on a dark setting. When the beef and kraut are warmed, place two slices of Swiss cheese on the top. Microwave on high for an additional minute or until cheese melts. Spread one slice of the toasted rye with Thousand Island dressing or Kraft Sandwich Spread. Assemble the sandwich by placing the slice of rye with no spread on top of the hot cheese, beef and kraut plate. Using another plate (or your ha
