Duvet covers are easy to launder and you can make an old comforter look fresh and new. This project is suitable for a beginner and can easily be completed in an afternoon. Pre-wash your flat sheets. Iron well after washing before making your duvet cover. Cut 6 inches off the bottom of one queen flat sheet. Serge, zig zag stitch or use pinking shears to finish this edge. Place the two sheets’ right sides together, lining up the bottom of each sheet. Stitch around both sides and the bottom of the duvet cover. Sew ribbon or twill tape ties to the inner bottom corner of your queen duvet cover. Stitch ties to the bottom corners of your comforter as well.
