How Do You Make A Purl Stitch In Knitting?

“Hi, I’m Christine Pichini here with Expert Village and today I’m going to teach you how to do the purl stitch. With the yarn in front of the needle, take the right needle and dip it from right to left underneath the first stitch. Now the placement of the yarn is important because you’re going to take the yarn from the front, lay it over the needle, pull it through to the back and slip it off. Dip from right to left underneath the first stitch, lay the yarn over the top of the needle, pull through to the back so there’s a loop on the back needle and then lift it up and over, just as you did with the knit stitch. Dip under, lay over, pull the loop through to the back, then slip it off. Under, over, through, off. Under, over, through, and off.
