Welcome your holiday guests this year with a beautiful pumpkin topiary. The twinkling lights in the pumpkins will brighten your front porch from Halloween until Thanksgiving. With a few easy instructions, you can make this fun decoration in an afternoon. Choose a container for your topiary. A large clay flower pot will work well or a decorative urn makes an even more dramatic statement. To prevent tipping, weigh down the container with sand or rocks. Purchase three nice round pumpkins in graduated sizes. The largest one needs to fit snugly in the container you have chosen. Cut the top off of the largest pumpkin. It will serve as the base for your topiary. Prepare the middle-sized pumpkin in the same way. Then, cut a hole in the bottom so it will rest securely on the base pumpkin.
