So, you need a prop to go along with your Jedi knight or Sith costume this halloween? No force user would be caught dead without his/her lightsaber so here’s how you make one with some stuff you can find around the house or at the local hardware store. Step 1 Plan the design of your lightsaber. This can be simple or very intricate. Just be careful that you have the tools and time to fabricate the prop as designed. Don’t draw up something that you simply can not make. Step 2 Get some materials. A 12 inch piece of thin walled plumbing (metal) will do and is relatively cheap. These usually come with a flanged or threaded end that may need to be cut off with your saw or rotary tool. Rubber washers that will fit over your pipe make easy and good looking accents.
