• Find a poncho in a “princessy” color like purple, pink, red, blue, or buttercup yellow. • Cut off the hood smoothly. You do not want rough ugly edges sticking out of your costume, unless you plan on finishing off the hems with fabric. • Try the poncho on. It will be loose and un-princesslike at this stage. • Cut a ribbon in a coodinating color to fit around your waist with extra length to spare. The bow should be tied in back. • If you have spare material or any loose faux-fur trim finish off the line where the cape was cut off, the bottom hem, and sleeves with it. This will make the costume more polished, neat, and proffesional looking. • Take off the costume and add any finishing touches that you think will add a pretty and frilly touch. Sequins, bows, sparkles, beads, and fabric paint are all good choices. Add a pretty crown or tiara.
