Bring the pot filled with 3 inches of water and a little salt to a full boil. While waiting for the water to come to a boil, wash and peel 7 to 9 potatoes. Then cut them into 3/4 inch chunks. Carefully add the potatoes to the pot of boiling water and allow to cook until potatoes are moderately tender. Drain water from potatoes and add milk and a stick of butter or margarine. Bring to a boil. Make sure not to have the burner turned up too high because you can scorch the soup. To make the noodles, first beat 7 to 9 eggs, with along with a little salt and pepper, with a fork in a medium bowl. Add flour, a little at a time, and continue to blend flour into the eggs.
