Soft-shelled turtles are pets that many owners enjoy for showing off a more exotic looking aquarium pet. Some owners even set up outdoor ponds at precise conditions so their soft-shelled turtles can live outside during the warm seasons instead of being cooped up in a small aquarium. There are several concerns that you need to address before keeping soft-shelled turtles in an outdoor pond, but most of these issues are fairly simple to manage. Dig a pond roughly four feet deep in a place that is not surrounded by trees or anything that will block sunlight from hitting the pond.
