How Do You Make A Plaster Face Cast?

0

If you have ever wanted to create a plaster casting of your face or someone else’s face or body, there a variety of ways to do it. One of the most popular methods is to use plaster of Paris bandages and vaseline on your face to create a casting. Personally, I do not prefer this method because the plaster can stick to your hair, the vaseline can burn your eyes, and the detail is good, but not great. Here is how I recommend you create a plaster face cast with the least amount of risk, and the best results! I recommend that for the casting mold material to apply to your face, that you use alginate powder. Alginate is more expensive than plaster but it is very safe to use and casts better details than plaster. It’s the blue or pink stuff dentists use to make mold impressions of your teeth. Alginate is non-toxic and it does not stick to your hair. I also recommend that you work in a garage, a basement, or a bathroom or kitchen that can be easily cleaned. Work on tile floors and counter surf
