How Do You Make A Pillow Out Of A Button-Down Shirt?

0

Re-invent, recycle and rejuvenate an old button-down shirt by making it into a pillow. If you have some old shirts that no longer fit, are worn out or are dated, this is a great project to re-use and re-purpose them. With just a few sewing supplies and a little handiwork, you will be well on your way to creating a unique pillow. Iron the shirt to remove any wrinkles. Lay the shirt on a flat surface. Begin at 2 inches above the pockets on the shirt, mark a square to match the size of your pillow form. This can range anywhere from 12 to 16 inches. Pin the front and back of the shirt together and cut out the squares. Put the pieces’ right sides (in other words, the outsides of the shirt) facing together and sew around the edges using a 5/8-inch seam allowance. Trim the corners of the seams and turn the shirt right side out. Place the pillow form into the shirt and button up the buttons.
