How Do You Make A Photography Backdrop Stand?
If you are setting up a home studio for either portrait or product-shot photography, you are probably going to want to use a backdrop. Backdrops are an essential tool for any photographer, using them can turn a living room or basement into a functional studio, and when you are done shooting, they easily tuck away till next time. While you can buy a stand for your backdrop at most camera stores, they can be expensive. But with a few dollars worth of PVC piping you can build your own stand that will serve the same purpose. Insert two of the 18-inch lengths of 1/2-inch PVC piping into the bottom openings in each of the “T” joints. This will form the “feet” of the stand and should leave the third opening of the “T” joint pointing toward the ceiling. Cap the open ends of the PVC pipe with the PVC caps.
