They will ask over and over again “How many days now?” Give them a project to do and let them count the days for themselves with this easy countdown calendar. Each child can make her own to hang in her room. Select a template in your computer printing system for the current year’s December calendar. Print the calendar on a piece of card stock. Select a blank calendar for children who have learned to write. You can also use a ruler and draw out your own calendar page. Encourage your child to number the days from Dec. 1 to 25 with markers or pencils. Have him color the word December and any outline drawings the template includes. Cut out a 4-by-5-inch piece of card stock and help the child staple or glue it to the bottom of the calendar on three sides only. This will form a small storage pocket.
