How Do You Make A Perfect Chocolate Meringue Pie?
Being able to make, serve and enjoy a chocolate meringue pie is a wonderful treat for family and friends. The filling for this recipe is quite easy, but the result is fantastic. Make your favorite pie crust and line pie plate. Crimp edges. Do not prick crust. Place crust in refrigerator while making pie filling. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Have ingredients at room temperature. Separate eggs, placing the whites in a large bowl. Set aside. In a small pan or in a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Set aside. In mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks, chocolate syrup and evaporated milk. Whisk in 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon flour. Stir in melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Pour filling into prepared, unbaked pie crust. Carefully place the pie on a rack in the center of the oven. Bake for 10 minutes.
