If you live in a remote location where you can only access television signals from a single broadcast station, you might be looking for a way to have access to more channels. A rotary television antenna is an unnecessary expense; a fixed-mount antenna is enough to give you hours of viewing pleasure, and can be made without a huge amount of effort. Cut a piece of plywood into a 30-inch-by-16-inch board. Wrap the board twice with aluminum foil. Seal with duct tape, black electric tape or any other non-metallic tape. Cut a 2-inch-by-4-inch piece of plywood to make a pole that is longer than the board. A 30-inch board will require a 41-inch pole. Place the board face-down on a worktable. Place the pole on top of the board so that it runs down the middle of the board; hammer roofing tiles to attach the board to the pole. Cut the heads off four coat hangers. Cut the bottom of the coat hangers in half. These straight wires will be used to make the wire “V-shaped” bow ties for the antenna. Str
