• Assemble a glass jar with a wide mouth. • Fill the jar with turpentine. The amount should be adequate to cover the bristles of your paintbrush. Add more if you are washing more than one brush. • Allow the brush or brushes to soak for half an hour. • Fill a glass or ceramic bowl with lukewarm water. Add two to three drops of dish washing liquid. Mix together lightly. • Take the soaking brush out of the turpentine and dip into the bowl of lukewarm water. Clean the brush by pressing it around in the bowl of water to remove the turpentine. • Turn the cold water faucet. Place the brush under the running water for the final rinse. Shake the brush afterwards. If desired, you can pat the excess water off gently with a recycled paper towel or a rag cloth. Otherwise, simply lay it flat on a waterproof surface to dry, such as a sink or a towel over a counter.
