How Do You Make A Natural Deodorant Like Burts Bees?
Chemical deodorants and antiperspirants have been implicated in everything from breast cancer to holes in the ozone. Natural powder deodorants get cakey and look awful when wearing sleeveless tops. At over $7 a bottle, Burt’s Bees deodorant is effective but pricey. Make your own! Fill spray bottle with 4 ounces distilled water and 4 ounces rubbing alcohol. You can use witch hazel instead of alcohol but it’s more expensive. Add 10 drops each of the following essential oils: lemon, lavender, and sage. Be sure to choose good quality essential oils. You may invest in $30 worth of essential oils now but it will make many bottles of natural deodorant. Put top back on bottle and shake. Spray liberally under arms after showering. Each 8 ounces of deodorant will cost about $1.50. As you perspire the scent will be released in a very subtle way. You can also use it as a refresher spritz at midday break.
