How Do You Make A Miniature Scarecrow?
A miniature scarecrow can be a nice finishing touch to an autumn wreath of floral arrangement. It can be a challenge to find a scarecrow that compliments your particular project. Make it yourself using colors and materials that you choose. Cut a 10-inch heavy wire stem from a silk bush or use a dowel. Push the stem or dowel into the middle of the foam ball. Cover the ball with a muslin or burlap piece. Wrap with yarn and tie to secure. Draw a face on the front of the head. Take an 18-inch piece of heavy gauge wire and form loops on either end for arms. Place a scant amount of craft stuffing on the arm cloth. Add raffia or strips of yarn for scarecrow hay effect. Wrap cloth around the wire and stuffing. Tie at wrists and center with yarn. Knot tightly. Lay head on stick on to the arms. Tie securely together with a piece of yarn. Fold shirt material in half. Cut a 2 1/2-inch slit from the fold down.
