How Do You Make A Magnetic Chalk Board?
Chalk board paint can turn anything into an instant chalk board. When teamed with galvanized metal, you can make a magnetic chalk board to hang in you kitchen or office. You can use the chalk board to write quick notes or lists and hang important papers right on it, using magnets. Chalk boards are great for grocery lists, to-do lists, and to keep track of appointments and children’s assignments. Score the galvanized metal, using a utility knife. Cut along the score lines with the utility knife. Paint a coat of latex primer onto the front of the sheet of metal. (Use a primer formulated for galvanized metal.) Allow to dry. Paint a coat of chalk board paint onto the metal sheet. Allow to dry completely, then paint a second coat. Make the strokes for the second coat in the opposite direction from the strokes for the first. Place a strip of stick on magnetic tape to the side of a piece of chalk and the back of an eraser.
