How Do You Make A Lava Lamp Out Of Plastic Bottles?

0

The lava lamp was invented in 1963 and was named such because the ever-moving blobs of wax look like molten lava from a volcano. But you don’t need to spend a lot of money buying one from a novelty store in order to have the effect in your own home. Used plastic bottles can be turned into makeshift temporary lava lamps by just using a few household items and a little ingenuity. Remove cap from a plastic soda bottle and insert a funnel into the opening. Pour vegetable oil through the funnel into the bottle until it is about three-quarters full. Pour water through the funnel into the bottle until the liquid is almost to the neck. Add 10 drops or more of food coloring until the mixture is dark in color. Remove the funnel. Break the effervescent antacid tablet into six pieces and add them slowly one at a time into the bottle. Wait for the bubbling to stop before adding each piece. Screw the cap onto the bottle. Turn the bottle on its side and tip it from side to side to watch the wave effe
