How Do You Make A Lava Globe?
A lava globe is a retro-style lava lamp in the shape of a globe. Some homemade lava lamps are made with oil and other household items but they do not work like the traditional models. Pour 1 cup of water into the jar. Mark the water line. The line will be used to measure the wax. After you draw the line, pour out the water. Fill the pot halfway with water. Bring it to a boil. Place the wax into the empty jar. The wax needs to melt inside the jar. Do not continue until all of the wax is melted. Pour 1/3 cup of Perc into the jar with the line on it. Fill the melted wax into the jar until the wax reaches the line. Add the color dye until the desired color is reached. Screw on the jar’s lid. Shake the jar to make the wax dye and Perc mix. Allow the wax to cool. Reheat the wax and Perc mixture in the pot until melted. Pour the mixture into the lamp and let cool. Fill the globe with distilled water. Leave 2 inches of space at the top.
