Finding the right lampshade can be a lesson in futility. Few stores carry lampshades today, and even then, colors are difficult to match, or sizes are hard to find, or quality leaves a lot to be desired. Follow these simple instructions to make a lampshade frame, then add your own fabric and trim to create a wonderful new look for a favorite old lamp. Step 1 Use another lampshade as a guide to determine the diameter for the frame. Step 2 With the pencil, outline the top and bottom of the lampshade frame. Cut out these circles to use as patterns. Step 3 Unwind the twisted necks of the hangers with the pliers, and straighten out the wire as much as possible. Step 4 Shape the wire around the circumference of the bottom circle pattern. Twist it finished, and crimp the end with the pliers. Step 5 Repeat Step 4 with more wire to make the top of the lampshade frame. Step 6 Decide how deep the lampshade should be.
