How Do You Make A Knitted Purse?
I started making these little purses when I was six years old and learning to knit. It made it more interesting to end up with an article that could be used, as opposed to a practice square. You can make your purse in stocking stitch – one row plain, one row purl,garter stitch – each row plain – or moss stitch – one stitch plain, one stitch purl and alternate on the next row. To start, I think stocking stitch would be easier. Decide how large you would like to make your purse. Twelve stitches would make a coin purse and twenty or twentyfive stitches would make a purse that you could put a few little things in.Cast on your stitches and proceed, keeping the edges straight. Check each row, to see if you have dropped any stitches. Fix as soon as possible or your purse could unravel. Keep knitting, until you can fold it over in three equal widths and cast off loosely.Turn so that wrong side is facing out and sew two thirds together using a back stitch on both sides.
