How Do You Make A Inexpensive Beach-Themed Birthday Cake?
Want a cute, themed cake for your kid’s birthday party but don’t have a lot of money to spend? You can make your own delicious fun cake in just a few easy steps! Make the cake, using 2 boxes of mix and a half sheet pan. Let it cool completely. While it is cooling, take one package of graham crackers and crush them in a ziploc using your favorite crushing tool (I used my meat tenderizer). Use a bread knife to cut off the rounded top of the cake. Arrange it on one side of the cake, using a little frosting to “glue” it on. That side will be the beach side of the cake, which needs to be a bit higher than the ocean side. Mix blue food coloring in with one can of frosting. Cover the lower half with the blue frosting, using a pastry spatula to make “waves”. Cover the higher half with the other can of frosting, then sprinkle the pulverized graham crackers over it (the beach).
