How Do You Make A Hover Craft For A Science Project?
A hovercraft or ACV or “air cushion vehicle” travels on a layer of compressed air that keeps it just above the surface of the Earth. The compressed air serves as a cushion eliminating friction between the craft and the ground. This CD hovercraft is a great working model to use in a science project. Step 1 Run a line of hot glue around the rim of the pop-up cap from the water bottle. Step 2 Place the rim of the pop-up cap directly over the middle of the CD covering the hole. Reinforce with additional glue if necessary. Step 3 Put the lid in the closed position. Step 4 Blow into the balloon until it is inflated. Twist the end so that the air doesn’t come out. Step 5 Place the end of the balloon over the mouth piece of the water bottle lid. By opening and closing the water bottle lid it is possible to allow air to flow out of the balloon through the hole in the CD or to keep the air inside the balloon. This completes the hovercraft. Step 6 Gently flick the hovercraft with your finger on a
