How Do You Make A Horizontal Roll Pattern On Tie Dye Shirts?

0

Tie dying is a modern version of an ancient dying tradition of resistance dying. Tie dying has been popular since the 60s, and it continues to be a pastime and fashion for many still. Use the tips below to try the horizontal roll technique in tie dying. Lay the shirt out on a flat surface. Fold the sleeves in and the neck and shoulders down to create a rectangular shape with the shirt. Fold the top over the shirt again approximately two inches. Fold the next 2 inches under the shirt. Then fold the next 2 inches over the shirt again, followed by the next 2 inches under the shirt again. Continue this patter until the shirt is in a long thin folded strip. Smooth out wrinkles as you go. Grab 1 side of the long strip, and begin to roll it tightly. Keep rolling until the entire shirt is in a roll. Wrap a rubber band around the roll to keep it snuggly in place. Put the roll in the first color of dye. Set it on its side, not the top or bottom of the cylinder-shaped roll. Leave it for 10 minute
