How Do You Make A Horeshoe Pit?
One of the classic outdoor games that requires no batteries, special accessories or extraordinary feats of athleticism is the game of horseshoes. While some people don’t mind haphazardly driving a stake in the ground and tossing a few shoes, there is a subtle beauty to a horseshoe pit ready for a game. Luckily, if you don’t know how to make a horseshoe pit, it doesn’t require much carpentry work or experience. A simple hole dug into the ground and framed is sufficient for a light game or practice. Step 1 Measure a 3-by-4-foot rectangle on a level portion of ground. Mark off the area with spray paint or spread a line of flour along the border of the rectangle. Step 2 Clear away the top layer of dirt or sod, from the marked off area and dispose of the sod. Loosen the soil about 3 to 4 inches down.
