How Do You Make A Honey Cake From Scratch?
This delicious recipe is for a honey cake, baked from scratch. Gather and measure out the honey cake ingredients: 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour 1 cup of sugar 1 cup of sour cream 1 cup of honey 2 eggs 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice 2 tablespoons of sliced almonds Turn on the oven to preheat at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray 2 9X5 inch loaf pans with non-stick cooking spray. Mix all of the ingredients, except the sliced almonds in a large mixing bowl. Beat until the batter is well blended. Pour the cake batter into the load pans. Bake for 20 minutes, and sprinkle the tops with the sliced almonds. Place back into the oven and bake for another 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and serve. If you can’t be at the oven to put the almonds on the cake 1/2 way through. Sprinkle the top of the cake batter with the nuts, prior to baking. Bake the cakes for 45 to 55 minutes. Just be aware that the almonds can sink down into the cake.
