How Do You Make A Homemade Metal Detector?

0

You see metal detectors everywhere. The mall, the office, the airport. Now you can make your own device to find hidden metal objects on your friends. • Stick velcro pads on the inside covers of the CD case and on the backs of the calculator and AM radio. • Press the calculator and radio onto the velcro pads mounted side by side in the CD case. • Tune the radio near the high end of the AM band, but NOT on a broadcast station. Adjust the volume to maximum so that the static is loud. • Turn on the calculator and position it close to the radio until you hear a pretty loud tone. • Move the radio back until you can barely hear the tone. With the radio and calculator at about a 90-degree angle from each other, move the device close to a metal object. If you did things right, the closer the object, the louder the tone!
