How do you make a home office desk?
One idea that takes no wood working skills or tools can be ripped from the pages of Pottery Barn. Take two identical file cabinets. Space them apart so you have a have a place to slide under your chair. Get a flat piece of wood/board/old tabletop and span it over the top of the file cabinets. Voila! A desk complete with storage and drawers that didnt even require you to own a hammer.
