Hemp can be found at your local craft store and makes for not only an exciting hobby, but also a great gift! Wrap a piece of hemp around your neck and let it drape to where you want your necklace to rest once it is complete. Take this portion and multiply it by fifteen, and make your first cut. Remember it is better to have too much than not enough. Now make another string identical in length to your first. Align these two strings together and fold them in half. Starting from the folded end, go down about two inches and pinch the four strands together. Take the loop you have just made and do an overhand knot. This is your starting knot and will be used later as the back of the necklace. Use your safety pin to hook this loop onto something such as a couch as to keep the strings tight. Allow no slack.
