How Do You Make A Greeting Card Envelope?
Using regular paper and rubber glue, you can make your own envelopes in almost any size. It’s easy – even kids 5 and up can do this (with supervision) – and it’s the perfect way to send a handmade card! • Lay your card on a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Center it horizontally on the paper but a little low. If you don’t have a card already, just mark the paper where you want your card to be. • Fold the sides of the paper inwards. Leave a little room so the envelope will be a little larger than the card. • Press firmly on the edge of each fold so it lays down flat. • Do the same with the top and the bottom (remembering to leave a little wiggle room). • Now flatten out the paper and remove the card. • Time to snip off the corners. Make a cut slightly larger than 90 degrees. • One corner snipped off. • Do this for all four corners. Check that the card will fit inside just nicely (always best to check this before you glue). • Put just a little dab of glue at the bottom of each side piece. Then

It cannot just be any envelope–it has to look professional, or it will look dorky going through the post office. These are the directions for a 5 x 7-inch card or an A7 sized one. You will not need a template or anything fancy. Measure the bottom fold by drawing a pencil line across the paper up 3 3/4 inches from the bottom. Do not worry about the line as it will be hidden in the inside of the envelope. Draw another line across the paper down 2 inches from the top of the page. Draw two lines on either side in 1/2 inch from either side. Crease the paper on every line, keeping it as straight and smooth as possible. Open all the folds and cut out the four outside corners along the lines. Fold in both sides. Fold up the bottom flap up over the sides and lightly glue along the outside edge of the bottom flap. Smooth it closed. Ins
