Want to clean your carpet or upholstery like the professionals? Here’s a simple solution for making an environmentally friendly cleaning solution to get your carpets or sofas looking like new. A friend of mine in the detailing business suggested I try this years ago and I have been using ever since. Works well on cloth car seats, auto carpets or floor mats. Purchase Simple Green, hair shampoo and spray or squirt bottle at a local retailer. Mix equal parts Simple Green and hair shampoo in spray bottle. A 50/50 mix works effectively. Shake mixture well prior to each application. Apply solution liberally to the affected area making sure that solution covers spots or stains entirely. Let solution soak into the affected area for 2-5 minutes. Scrub affected area with a brush using an overlapping, circular motion. Wipe area dry with towel or vacuum. Repeat steps as necessary to remove dirt,stains or spots.
