Make beautiful mosaic stepping stones for your garden easily with a few supplies you can find at your local craft store. Custom-design your stepping stone with your children’s handprints, brightly colored pebbles or bits of broken ceramic tiles. Form the stepping stones and let your children enjoy decorating them with you. Apply the mold release to the inside surface of your stepping-stone mold. Mix the concrete according the manufacturer’s directions and either pour it or use a trowel to place it in the mold. Fill the mold almost to the top. Vibrate the mold with your hands to release any air bubbles that may be in the concrete. Let the concrete set up for about five minutes before you begin to create your mosaic. Press the ceramic tiles into the surface of the concrete in whatever pattern you enjoy. Fill the top of the concrete with the tiles.
