How Do You Make A Fun Thanksgiving Kids Craft Using Tortillas?
Here’s a fun craft you can make with your kids during the Thanksgiving holiday or as part of a study on Native Americans. This is an edible craft, so make an extra to enjoy for a snack! It would also be fun to have age-appropriate books about celebrating Thanksgiving available to read or look at. Cut a 7 or 8 inch flour tortillas in half. Form each half of the tortilla into a cone, overlapping slightly and leaving a center top opening about 1/2 inch across. Secure the tortilla closed with a toothpick. Dip the ends of the pretzel sticks in canned frosting. Insert 3 pretzels into the center opening of each tepee and spread slightly apart. Press the pretzels against the sides of the tortilla. Dilute desired food coloring with water, and have children use paintbrushes to make designs on the sides of the tepees. This would be a great time to have books available showing different symbols Native Americans used and their meanings.
