Friendship necklaces are easy to make and fun to share. To make a friendship necklace, you can tie any style of knot you enjoy making and find pretty to look at. Embellish your friendship necklaces with beads or charms and give them to your friends. Start with six strands of string in various colors. Choose the length of necklace you want to make and be sure your string is three times as long. Make a loop at the end of your strands. Use a safety pin or a clamp to secure it to a stable work surface. Separate your strands so you have two strands on the left, two in the center and two on the right. Pick up the left strands and bring them behind the center strands and back over the top. This creates a loop around the center strands. Draw the left strands through the loop to make a knot, then return them to the left side of the work surface. Use the right strands and make the same knot over the center strands.
