How Do You Make A Fire Extinguisher For A Science Project?
A typical fire extinguisher works by spraying foam that prevents the fire from getting oxygen. Commercial versions store a liquid under pressure that reacts with oxygen to produce the foam. You can also make a simple fire extinguisher from common household items to demonstrate this principle as part of an experiment. This project makes use of the classic vinegar and baking soda reaction to produce the fire suppressant foam. Step 1 Wash the inside of the peanut butter jar carefully with soap and warm water to ensure that it’s completely clean. Clean the inside of the film canister also. Dry both the peanut butter jar and film canister thoroughly. Step 2 Fill the film canister with baking soda and place its lid on half way. Ensure that the lid does not completely seal the film canister. Put the film canister gently into the empty peanut butter jar. Pour vinegar carefully into the peanut butter jar without getting it in the partially open film canister. Make sure that the level of the vin
