• Set up the tank like you normally would for a betta fish, but use a 10 gallon (or larger) tank. Make sure you have all the supplies you will need to maintain the tank. • You will need this tank to be heavily planted, with a lot of caves and hiding places. • Introduce the girls. Buy at least 3 female bettas. Having at least 3 allows them to set up a hierarchy. Make sure you get all the bettas you want at once, and put them in the tank at the same time. • During your bettas’ first two weeks together, they will fight. Let them be, as they are establishing the pecking order. Be careful when feeding them, as they are very competitive, and may eat more than their fair share. • Watch them. You need to constantly watch them for signs of injury (other than nipped fins) • If you have to remove a bully, don’t remove the most aggressive female, as she is in control.
